Sandra’s work is about light. Enduring, waiting, pausing and always finding the light that surrounds her. Every time her paint drifts into the vibrant colors her brush strokes reveal the hope and joy that light brings. Blurring the lines between memories, dreams and realities found in her wandering in nature.
At the heart of it, I create things. I use paint, pencil and paper and digital media to pursue all things creative. Born in Canada, I embraced life on the west coast and my deep love of the ocean. Now soaking up the golden light in Arizona, I am inspired by the vibrancy colors I see in the nature around me. Light always finds away into my work, hope and the promise of a glimmer. It is the tiniest flicker of light that can change you, change color and reveal a whole new spectrum of colors.
It is usually the little things that bring me the most joy and make me happy, watching the sunrise with my morning coffee (with coconut milk). AirPods filling my senses in with ambient house music gives rhythm to my day. Diving into a good sweaty workout to invigorate me and get in the studio to create some magic and get lost in the colors that flow!
